I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: weddings are about the people who take part in them… not the budget, the location, or even the photographs. Okay, well, maybe the photographs a little, because the best images are the ones that tell stories and capture moments that the bride and groom can re-live 50 years down the road when their minds are old and their memories faded.<\/p>\n

The moments that took place at Caryln and Robert’s wedding at the Nolde Forest Mansion\/Goggleworks are what made these photos special. Even though the Mansion is certainly lovely, these two could have gotten married in their parents’ backyard, and Carlyn’s family would have laughed and cried all the same with the incredible joy they felt for her; Carlyn would still have teared up as Rob came into sight walking down the aisle, and the single ladies’ dresses would have been no cleaner after rolling on the floor in the fight for the bouquet.<\/p>\n

For all these reasons, I feel lucky to have been the one to tell the story of Carlyn and Rob’s day…<\/p>\n

Shooting close to noon is never my favorite, but in a forest with high castle walls to shade us, we couldn’t go wrong at any time of day.<\/p>\n

The courtyard ceremony was stunning. Between the well-executed Fall theme and the talented harpist, it had the essence of a fairytale.<\/p>\n

The Goggleworks<\/a> is a really unique venue with a pleasant and helpful staff. After dropping my flash and pocket wizard down the service \u00a0elevator taking the last shot on this blog, they couldn’t have tried harder to help me retrieve it. Sadly, we were unsuccessful, but at least the shot came out \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
