Christine & Jesse fell in love with the idea of a “Christmas in Denver” themed engagement shoot, and having seen the types of engagements we do on a regular basis, knew right away that they had chosen just the photographers for the job!

We were all, of course, hoping for a little snow to add that wintery feel to the shoot, but the first part of December came and went without a single flake! That didn’t stop the temperature from dropping to 15 degrees, though, and by the end of the shoot all of us looked just a bit more closely related to Rudolph.

We started the shoot with a little ice skating at Skyline Park downtown. Access to the rink = free, skate rentals = $4, the photos we got watching this fun-loving couple bumble around on the ice = priceless!

After making poor Christine and Jesse sit their freezing-cold bums directly on the ice, Sean and I thought we’d show a little mercy and allow them to warm up with some hot beverages at a local cafe. Afterwards we stopped on the street to witness them each opening one early Christmas present from the other…

From there we pretty much winged whatever shot opportunities we came across while wandering the 16th Street Mall.

As it was taking FOREVER to get dark enough to get shots with the Christmas lights, we headed back to this outdoor market we saw that had been modeled after the famous German Christmas market in Munich – Sean and I remembered the real deal fondly from our last European Adventure! This cute little setup wasn’t nearly the same without the Gluhwein.

To Christine and Jesse: Thanks for braving the cold and the sniffles to come out and shoot with us on Sunday! You two could not possibly be more adorable or fun to work with – we’re super excited for your wedding August!
