Ellie and Brian met in the Air Force and planned their entire wedding from Virginia! As their photographers, we were completely blown away by how Ellie was able to take this wedding to new heights planning from such a distance. We REALLY enjoyed every last detail, from the venue the couple chose to the locations they scouted for photos ops!
It was our first time shooting at the Manor House in Littleton, CO, and we were really excited to see how our photos there would measure up to other weddings we’ve seen shot there. It certainly helped that the staff was extremely welcoming and photographer-friendly, but even more so that Ellie and Brian placed such a high value on their photos and were up for pretty much any suggestions we had!
As usual, I photographed the girls getting ready and Sean was there to take pictures of the guys, who arrived fully ready in their dress Air Force Blues.
Ellie had a really unique idea to not only do a “first touch,” where the couple stand on either side of a door or wall and touch without seeing each other, but also to use that opportunity to read their personal vows to one another.
After that, it was into the limo and off to the ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton, CO.
We made a quick pit stop at Red Rocks for some photos before heading over to the Manor House. Unfortunately there was an event taking place at the ampitheatre so we had to use some locations that were a little “off the beaten path” to avoid the crowds.
We made sure we’d still have some time leftover for photos on the grounds at the Manor House, though, and these next few bride and groom photos were all taken there.
The couple’s reception started out in the tent adjacent to the house, and then moved indoors after the speeches and first dances. For a small crowd, Ellie and Brian’s guests sure knew how to have a good time!
We finally said our goodbye’s to the lovely couple with a sparkler exit send off! To Ellie and Brian: We can’t thank you enough for choosing us to celebrate your once-in-a-lifetime day with. We hope you’re still on Cloud Nine enjoying your International honeymoon!
