2010 Has been an truly amazing year, but before I embark on a new year’s worth of engagements and weddings, and trust me, it will be a BUSY one, I wanted to recap some of the 2010 wedding highlights. My year was kick-started in January with a NYC day-after session with the actual Mrs. Star (a famous blogger on the weddingbee web site)! The New York Public Library provided my favorite spot of the day, and Mrs. Star’s dress was simply stunning.
In February, I flew to Alabama to shoot Miranda & Chad’s wedding. At that point, it had snowed in Alabama all of about twice in four years, and against all odds, Miranda had a gorgeous white wedding.
In March I shot Angela and Isidro’s wedding in Reading, PA. It was such an emotional and beautiful event.
Then, two days after Angela’s wedding, I had another small, emotional affair in Philadelphia with Anna and Eric.
I spent most of May traveling internationally, and couldn’t book any weddings for that month, but when I got back, I did manage to find time for Maile’s UNFORGETTABLE bridal portraits session in Salt Lake City, Utah!
It felt like FOREVER until my next wedding would come around, but when it finally did, Sandy and Jeff’s June event was definitely worth the wait!
In July, I married off Gina and Kevin. I was always particularly attached to this couple, and their day was an emotional milestone for not just them, but for me. I felt honored to capture their day.
After that, I was so busy, the weddings just all started to blur together, but there were some stand-out shots from each of them, like from Katie and James’ awesome shotgun wedding!
Rachael and Steve and the debut of my beloved Macro lens.
Second Shooting Stacy and Justin’s NJ wedding for Peter Miller.
And then let’s not forget Erin and Mark’s amazing wedding celebration, which took place shortly after Erin won her long, hard-fought battle with breast cancer. On the roof of the double-tree hotel in Philadelphia, Erin reminded us all to appreciate life and love.
My fellow photographer friend Heather, and her husband John were next in line to be married.
Followed by Danielle & John’s, fall/country -themed October wedding
And last but not least Mei and Kent’s NJ wedding reception, where I was given the privilege to shoot in one of the most beautiful and iconic institutions in the United States, Princeton University.
Not be left out completely, there were of course a couple of really memorable engagement sessions throughout the course of this year. The first of which was Erica and Greg’s Central Park, NY Engagement.
And who could forget the company’s first styled engagement shoot: Erin and the “Matter’s” Alice in Wonderland.” The resulting video that Tim Robinson created using the photos made our vision come to life even more: Alice In Wonderland Engagement Shoot Video
The thing I love about photojournalistic photography is that you never know what the next wedding will bring. You can’t plan the shots, a moment that passes you by, a veil that falls perfectly in front of your lens at the last second, or a priceless expression that would otherwise be forgotten for all time captured in an instant. These are the things I live for, and while I see many challenges ahead, some of which you’ll hear about in my next very exciting blog announcement, I see another year before me filled with beautiful brides and some absolutely STUNNING venues and details. I just can’t wait to be a part of all the special days to come and the love that makes them possible!
