Elizabeth and Matt are one of those couples that just make you go “Awww!” uncontrollably. In fact, this was actually a problem during the engagement session because I would “awww” at the best, most adorable moments and actually distract them from their natural interaction, haha. I just couldn’t help myself!

We did their engagement session at Columcille Megalith Park, which is a public/private park… whatever that means! It was really great getting to know these two for the first time since they came to my house during Alice in Wonderland-production craziness to discuss their wedding photography options. The best part about working with Liz and Matt was that they required little to no direction; they really seemed to know exactly how to be themselves in front of the camera and Matt even contributed some of his own ideas for shots! We kicked off the session by a lake and a barn that weren’t exactly part of the park and then headed into the “main attraction area.”

We came across a bench overlooking the forest. Every so often I come by a few photos that just really need to be included as a set. I thought these next three together really perfectly described the kind of couple that is Liz and Matt.

Among Matt’s awesome ideas, was this silhouette. I of course added in some extra flare with the execution and incorporation of the Fish-Eye.

After we exhausted the little stone Chapels, we walked up to Thor’s stone thing, which kind of reminded me of a small piece of Stonehenge.

We hiked a long way to get to this next location, and Matt got some laughs out of me as he teased about getting lost and abducted after I shared a story about me getting lost in the woods chasing my American Mastiff dog, Cheddar, for three miles in the snow!

To Liz and Matt: Thank you for being so patient waiting for this blog! I can’t even begin to tell you what kind of week it’s been with no Internet and a malfunctioning laptop to work on. As I stressed at the prospect of not getting this blog done as quickly as usual, my one comfort was knowing what awesome and easy-going people you both are. I am so happy to have you as clients, and I absolutely can’t wait for what I’m sure is going to be one heck of a wedding!
