There’s no rhyme or reason to it, but sometimes you just go to a wedding and feel like a part of the celebration. You aren’t afraid to get close for the shot, because all of the couples’ guests are having a great time and have either forgotten you’re there, or are egging you on. That was definitely how I would describe shooting Jenna and Jason’s awesome Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge wedding this past Saturday.
Even more than the breathtaking mountain backdrop, the enthusiastic environment was what truly made Jenna and Jason’s wedding so special. You could just breathe in the excitement from their intimate selection of friends and family, who were among the most genuinely-happy-for-the-couple bunches we’ve seen to date.
We started with some “getting ready” shots at Roots Salon on Main St. in Breckenridge and quickly made our way over to the wedding venue to finish up. Sean shot the boys getting ready, and even though they were already dressed by the time he was scheduled to arrive, there was plenty of time of portraits and a little bit of goofing off.
The ceremony location was one to swoon over. I haven’t seen a venue with such sweeping mountain views since Mindy and Tyler’s lavish affair at the Club at Crested Butte.
As usual, we banged out the family formals as quickly and efficiently as possible so we could move on to the wedding party and bride and groom photos. Thankfully Jenna and Jason made it a point to give us sufficient time for photos, allowing us to set up one of our more creative wedding party shots. I also can’t thank the venue’s neighbors enough, as a good deal of these photos were taken on their private property, with their generous permission of course! Umm, can you imagine living HERE?!?
Portraits were followed by a lively reception full of duck-facing, hamming and of course DANCING! You know how we love our dance shots!
To Jenna and Jason – well, we knew your wedding was going to be amazing, but I never thought we’d walk away so attached to you and your guests. I seriously cannot begin to express how sincere my wishes are that your marriage be all that you dreamed for it and more. I can definitely see us running into you five years from now at Babies R Us or Crate and Barrel as happy and in love as I did on Saturday, and that’s really something special. Congratulations again!
