Angie and Anson are actually Aspen locals – so awesome! Unfortunately, that meant they had to book us sight-unseen. We met them for the first time at the wedding, and quickly found that they were a couple just brimming with personality. They were married this past weekend at the T Lazy 7 Ranch in Aspen, not more than a few miles from Maroon Bells lake, a place I’ve been DYING to shoot. Sadly the weather was really iffy on their day, and we had to get our photos in between short breaks in the rain, limiting our ability to utilize the gorgeous scenery surrounding us.
Here are a few pictures that started our day:
The couple opted for a “first look” to make time for gorgeous portraits. After a few quick obligatory shots at the ceremony site, we drove closer to Maroon Bells, only to find the wildflower field we had driven there for was not in bloom. Before we settled for a grove of Aspen trees; the couple requested another quick shot in the middle of the street, which unfortunately resulted in my ENTIRE camera bag of lenses (which was on the grass next to the street) being run over by one of the bridesmaids’ car as she was adjusting her parking job. And here I thought I’d seen it all. It’s okay MOH, you know I love you anyway! 🙂
The pre-ceremony and ceremony were quite full of entertaining groomsmen debauchery. Feeding-your-beer-t0-a-baby-goat shot, yes please!
The T Lazy 7 Ranch, with its sprawling cabin woodwork and romantic lighting was a gorgeous venue for a reception.
Angie and Anson, thanks so much for having us be part of your special day! Your playful dynamic with each other made for some amazing photographs I hope you’ll treasure forever!
