There are some clients who just make you smile from the moment you first meet them. There are some clients whose quirky sense of humor is completely in line with yours. And there are some clients who become more than just clients. Jackie and Mike are EVERYTHING on this list. Sean does not shoot engagement sessions with me, but I remember telling him before arriving at their wedding, that if we had to spend our 5-year-wedding anniversary shooting someone’s wedding, this was the couple to share it with. He was a bit skeptical about how “fun they could actually be” until he met them for himself and immediately knew what I was talking about.
Jackie’s laugh is contagious, Mike’s expressions are priceless, and neither of them are afraid to just be themselves, regardless of how formal the environment. I literally can’t say enough good things about them, or their Black Canyon Inn/Twin Owls Steakhouse wedding this past Friday… but since a picture is worth a thousand words…

Sean’s only regret on our wedding day five years ago, was that he never did get to taste our actual wedding cake. He carried a slice of it around for a full 45 minutes while he mingled with his guests, before finally putting it down and completely forgetting about it. For our first-year anniversary, he attempted to buy us a new cake to finally complete that missed portion of our celebration… but it tasted awful. Jackie and Mike were amazing, and had their MC announce that they were sharing their special day with their photographers, and promptly smashed more cake in Sean’s face than I have EVER seen on one person’s face in the history of shooting weddings. I laughed SO freakin’ hard, I may or may not have peed my pants just a little.
