Natasha and her mother, Jo, have a wonderful relationship, and both of these strong, beautiful women poured their hearts into planning Natasha and Johnny’s wedding at the Hilton Hotel, Philadelphia. Twenty-nine years ago to the week, Jo and Pete were married in the exact same church, and danced their first dance as a married couple on the exact same dance floor that Natasha and Johnny did this past Saturday. The two planned every aspect of the wedding down to the finest detail, and I was honored to have their very special event be my last wedding before I officially relocate to Denver, Colorado.

My husband, Sean, second shot this wedding with me, and I was also happy to have Tim Robinson join us to provide the video (coming soon). Sean and I arrived at the hotel and Natasha was already in the chair having her makeup done.

Jo taped a penny to the bottom of one of Natasha’s wedding shoes for luck. It was the same penny that her late father had taped to the bottom of her shoe at her wedding, and also served to represent his presence on Natasha’s special day.

While I was taking care of the girls, Sean was in a room down the hall taking a few pictures of the guys getting ready. A good sampling of the photos later in this blog are also from Sean.

The ceremony took place at St. Donato, which had some very unique and beautiful characteristics. A hobbyist photographer on the side, the couple’s priest was also very accommodating in allowing us to use different areas of the church.

After the ceremony, we all hopped in the limo and headed over to Love park for a few photos of the bridal party and the bride and groom.

The next stop on our itinerary was the Please Touch Museum, where we made arrangement to have bride and groom photos of Natasha and Johnny taken. Don’t these two just look fabulous on the museum’s gorgeous carousel?!

Back at the hotel, all of Natasha and Jo’s hard work planning the ballroom decor amounted to an absolutely stunning reception venue. I captured some of these lovely details while Sean worked on setting up our reception lighting.

The first dances ensued, including a special anniversary dance for the parents of the bride. Johnny seemed to be having the best time twirling his new wife across the dancefloor.

After that, it was time to Partay!

To Natasha and Johnny: If there is one thing that really stood out to me on Saturday, it wasn’t your beautiful venues, or you gorgeous decor, but the two of you as a couple. You complement each other in all the right ways, and your relationship seems to exist on a much deeper level… like a couple that has already been married as long as your parents have. It really was a privilege to share your wedding day and I can totally see you someday back on that dancefloor for a third-generation wedding!
