Tina and Hung had about a million opportunities to meet before they actually did. With mutual family friends, they had attended many of the same parties and events somehow without ever crossing paths. I am a firm believer in that things happen for a reason and the powers that be were simply waiting for the timing to be just perfect for these two to meet and fall in love.

Their story is romantic and unique, and Tina and Hung wanted an engagement session that would be a reflection on these two aspects of their relationship. That being said, I’m pretty sure they found the perfect photographers for them in Sean and myself. Not to toot our own horns, but we are so happy we had the versatility and technical skill to give them a fun, yet formal engagement session like the one they were picturing.

We started at City Park with the intention of nabbing some romantic shots of the Denver Skyline and from there the entire shoot adopted a very distinct “Romantic Evening in Denver” feel.

After City Park we headed to some areas around the mall that we thought might provide us with some neat “grunge” backgrounds to contrast the couple’s dressy attire.

After a fair amount of time dodging druggies and mall security to get the previous photos, we headed over to the Denver Mall to try something really different … photographing the couple during a Hansom Cab (Horse and Carriage) Ride at night! We took these next couple of shots while waiting for our chariot to arrive.

Despite setting ourselves up for the most challenging lighting scenario we could possibly imagine and almost getting hit by a bus AND run over by a horse while chasing the carriage, we were extremely happy with the one-of-a-kind photographs we came away with!

To Tina and Hung: You two are one of the sweetest couples we’ve had the pleasure of working with, and we just love that your personalities and vision for your wedding really brings out the best in what we do. June 2013 can’t come soon enough!
