I’m going to start out by saying that we understand the level of trust that goes into hiring someone who lives across the country to shoot your wedding. This is a concern for a lot of PA, NJ, DE, MD, and NYC, brides who find out about us and fall in love with our work, only to realize that we’re currently based out of Denver. Sometimes these brides get in touch with us for more details on how we still service the Northeast, how we select the weddings we shoot, and if we charge travel (we don’t), and sometimes they just move on, which is okay too. But I just wanted to thank each and every one of you who’ve taken the leap and hired us since we’ve moved for the continued opportunities to not only work in some of my favorite cities in the country, but to see my family in PA so frequently.
This especially goes for Linnea and Peter, who held off on booking their photographer for an entire month just to have the opportunity to meet with us 🙂 When we did finally meet, I will say there were some pretty bizzare meant-to-be moments going on, i.e. Peter’s family living in Colorado and the restaurant in Broad Axe where my dad has worked for the last 20 years being one of Linnea’s old college hang-out spots.
Now having shot their wedding on Sept. 6 2013, Â I feel even more that this couple was a perfect fit for us and everything panned out exactly as it was meant to. I hope when Linnea and Peter see these images from their day, they share in those feelings with us.
While Linnea was getting ready at the Hotel Palomar, Pete and his buddies were hanging out at the Embassy Suites…
Peter had the fun idea to do his and Linnea’s “first look” at Love Park, and we were totally on board! However, I don’t think either he or I put much thought to the logistics of organizing such a meet, and there was a lot of standing around, stashing Linnea in bushes, and waiting for crowds to clear to pull it off, but SO worth it! Afterwards, we took a few quick photos near City Hall.
This was our first time shooting inside The Water Works Restaurant and Lounge in Philadelphia, and we have nothing but great things to say about the venue, the grounds (which we had used before for shoots) and Special Events Coordinator Pam, who was a real pleasure to work with!
The party itself was a blast, and the couple’s intimate selection of guests all seemed especially excited to be there.
To Linnea & Pete, if you haven’t yet seen that epic night shot I promised you on Facebook, here it is! Thank you again so much for going the distance with us!
